INTERSECTION

An important tenure in Mays' career was his involvement with the co-op quartet "Road Work Ahead". Formed in the late 1970's when Mays still resided in California the band toured extensively and made several recordings. Mays reminisces, "It was a true cooperative: all hands were on deck with the composing, arranging, and booking of the band. Friends on and off the bandstand we were a real family–it was one of my most fruitful and meaningful collaborations." This 2013 recording was their last together.
