Bill Mays -- beyond category. With deep roots in jazz, gospel, pop and classical music his eclectic, prolific career as pianist, composer and arranger spans five decades.

Heard on hundreds of recordings, TV and movie sound tracks, Bill's concert and studio credits include a who's who of modern music, from Benny Golson to Gerry Mulligan to Sarah Vaughan.

Bill tours and records in many diverse configurations:

•• His newly-formed  Inventions Trio, with cellist Alisa Horn and trumpeter Marvin Stamm -- read about the trio and hear their Palmetto Records CD  Fantasy.
•• Solo piano
•• Trio with bassist Martin Wind and drummer Matt Wilson. Check their CD Live at the Jazz Standard and DVD.
•• Christmas holiday program with his classical/jazz crossover group, the Toronto Chamber Jazz Septet.

The Bill Mays Songbook is a spiral-bound book with a dozen compositions taken from recordings. Not just lead sheets, these are two-staff compositions with chord symbols and notation for both hands. Free MP3 and sheet music download of Bill's Shoho Love Song!
